Home and land on the market in Los Angeles, Mount Washington (Zone 11a)

A pair years in the past I spent a very long time home searching in LA to discover a place with the right mixture of microclimate for tropical rising, sufficient land to plant my a whole lot of timber, walkability to the metro, quick access to the freeway, good colleges, quiet neighborhood, and the remaining.  And I discovered it, within the Mount Washington neighborhood.  It was a traditional 100 12 months previous home that wanted some work with two south-facing downslope parcels of land only a 10 minute stroll from the metro gold line (and 9 minutes by prepare to downtown) and only a couple miles on the 110 from the guts of town.  Plus it is only a few minutes stroll from the superb native elementary faculty.  However once we began doing work on the home, it turned out we wanted to fastidiously rebuild your entire home from scratch, which is what we spent the final two years doing, piece by piece, from the bones on up.

The home is nice now, however we’re exhausted in each method.  So we’re promoting it.  I am posting about it right here within the hopes that some uncommon fruit grower will need it (both you all or somebody you realize), as a result of I hate to see such prime land going to somebody who will not worth the land and microclimate.  It is solidly Zone 11a — one of many few SoCal neighborhoods that’s — plus it will get the correct amount of heat to get nice progress on tropicals.  (I studied years of climate station information from each station within the space to determine this out…)  The land is formally 1/4 acre however functionally 1/2 acre given the unused land round it.  And we rebuilt the home to be what we wished moderately than what a home flipper would do, so we spared no expense (every thing from strong oak flooring to a 5.28 kW photo voltaic array to new copper plumbing, electrical, home windows, doorways, kitchen, bogs, home equipment, basis bolting and footings and large beams — actually every thing…).  Home is 1729 sq ft, 3 bed room / 2 bathtub plus a den.
