Ribston Pippin blossom
I stay in Pontefract and have plenty of fruit timber and room for a couple of extra, I’d like to develop some that had been bred right here. Have you learnt any varieties that they bred particularly within the city?

The next response from Philip Rainford:
I’ve not been profitable find an apple native to Pontefract. Nevertheless, I do have a replica of lists of apples from ‘A “Transient Catalogue of Fruit Timber Offered by William Good Nurseryman at Pontefract’ (c late 18th/early nineteenth century) and Yorkshire varieties Yorkshire Greening, Ribston Pippin and Sykehouse Russet seem inside. Know of Inexperienced Balsam not too far-off (Church Fenton); Cockpit one other previous Yorkshire apple, which encroached into Lancashire in Victorian occasions!
